Service Description

• Review of pregnancy, medical, and breastfeeding history • Discussion of previous breastfeeding/feeding experiences, if applicable • Review of the family’s breastfeeding and feeding goals • Education on what to expect during the first days and weeks postpartum and flange sizing suggestions • Breastfeeding preparation and positioning education • Discussion of milk supply and normal newborn feeding patterns • Bottle-feeding and/or pumping education, as appropriate • Identification of potential feeding risk factors • Recommendations for hospital/newborn feeding support • Guidance on when to schedule a postpartum evaluation • Care coordination and referrals, when appropriate
